Typical day in the Xaivier kitchen

Kitty pahsed through the wall of the kitchen wall before she got all the way through her right le got caught. "Aww come on this happens like, everytime." She shut eyes and poured her conentration into her stuck leg and pulled it through. One day I'm toatly gonna get through their like it was an oen door." she vowed to herself.

Kitty strode to the fridge where she pulled out th milk carton, taking it to the table. "She looked around to be sure there wasn't anyone around, took of the cap, and slowly began to drink the milk. Drinking from the carton had been her bad habbit from a young age. Her reasoning behind it was milk tasted better without the glass.

"What are you doing?" Jake asked, head slightly cocked, hands in his pockets.

Kitty looked nervously at the boy standing in the kitchen doorway. She took one last gulp of milk "Uh I was going to finish that off..." She hoped he didn't look into the jug and see there wwas a pretty good potion of milk left.

Jake shrugged.
"Whatever, I dont like milk anyway. I'm Jake."

Kitty smiled and stuck out her hand "My names Kathryne Pryde, but you can call me Kitty. So, like, what do you do?"

Jake shook her hand, careful to use his right.
"Um... what do you mean?"

She laughed "You know, like, your powers and stuff. I phase through solid objects, thats why they call me Shadowcat." She phased her open hand through Jake's shoulder.

Jake jumped as she did that. "THat was wierd." Jake commented. "I shapeshift i guess."

She gave him a smirk and crossed her arms "Oh yeah and I'm toatly the weird one." she said. Sarcasticly of course.

Jake smiled at her comment. He was starting to like her.
(uh... i dont know what to do now...)

"So how'd you get the prostetic arm?" She asked taking another swig of milk from the jug.

"Huh?" The question really caught him off guard.

"It was quite obvious when I went through it. No way it was made of flesh." She said wondering if she had struck a nerve of some sort.

"Uh.. yah... Just, an accedent in my dad's lab." He said evaseivly, pulling his left hand out of his pocket, showing the metal hand. He shoved it back in his pocket, and changed the subject.
"So... uh... this is quite the place..."

Kitty instantly picked up on the subject change but knew the arm was a i-dont-want-to-tal-about-it situation "Yeah can you believe it? I've been here for a couple months and I still get lost."

Jake nodded. "I got lost trying to find my dorm earlier. Then I felt like exploring the place, got lost and ended up here."

KItty laughe, happy she wa'tthe only one "Yeah, but it helps to be able to walk through walls."

"I can imagine, If *I* tried that, I'd get a headache." Jake said with a grinn.

Kitty smiled "Well when I et some more control of my powers I'll gladly take you through one some time."

Jake shook his head. "I think I'll pass on that one." He still thought that it was a wierd power.

"Aww come on its not as bad as you think it would be!" She grinned "And one day I might have to to, like, save your life. Mr.Logan's danger room sesions can get pretty brutal."

"Well if it comes to that I guess I'll go, but for now, I'll stick with going around." Jake said with a laugh.

Kitty looked around again "I think I know where Ororo hides the cookies. You want one?"

"Sure... who's Ororo?"

"Storm." Kitty said as she bent down near the only locked cabinet. She concentrarted and phased her right arm and head through the doors. A couple seconds later she ccame out, two cookies in hand. Kitty tossed one over to Jake as she munched on one herself.
