Devilish smiles (Layla)

sitting on his car in the garage he had broken a belt in the race last night and had to go to town to get a new one. Thinking for a moment, he wondered if anyone in the school wanted to go with him. Holding his large leather coat in his hand he rubbed the back of his head looking at the engine. "Damn it!" siro said with a cold thought in his mind. He calmed down as he didn't want to move people's bones as they walked in. Grabbing a bottle of rootbeer from the inside of his car he lifted his head looking at the hanger door.

Still on her self-tour, Layla found her way to a door she hadn't explored yet. Her catlike curiosity made her open the door and she discovered the garage. Her senses picked up the sharp scent of grease, metal, and oil in the air and she wrinkled her nose at it. She also heard sounds like someone was working on a car inside. Peeking her head in she looked around, hear cat ears twitching and rotating from side to side.

Layla couldn't see who was in the garage, and she wondered who it was. She also sensed that whoever it was, they were a little agitated. She could almost feel a little bit of tension in the air. Creeping her way through the garage she finally had view of a boy, not too much older than herself by the looks of him, working on a car and drinking from a bottle. By the smell of it she could tell it was Rootbeer.

Sitting on the door of his two door car, he was thinking of redoing the engine to see if he can get it to go faster. Not sure about it though, he chugged some of his drink before hearing the door to the garage open. Putting down the bottle as he saw a girl walk into view he quickly put on his black leather gloves but left his coat off wearing a white muscle shirt and black jeans held up by a brown leather belt. His hair hair pulled back into a long ponytail.

"Hello..." He said looking at how she looked. seeing how she looked, he figured that she was a mutant and new by the looks of it. He hasn't seen her around. "Are you lost? I'm Siro... and you are?" He was trying to be friendly without her touching him.

Layla hadn't been trying to hide exactly, so when the boy noticed her she didn't retreat. Obviously he was a member of the Institute since he was in this garage, so she automatically considered him a friend, or at least not an enemy. She walked out from behind other vehicles and more in direct vision of this boy. Still sensing slight tension from him, she didn't move toward him.

He introduced himself as Siro. "Hi," she said cheerfully, "I'm not lost, just exploring. I'm new, my name's Layla Cambers." Her cat ears and tail flicked back and forth.

His eyes went directly to her tail and ears when she came out, they were adorable on her. Looking at the girl he put his coat on so that he could walk up and shake his hand. the leather coat went down to his ankles as he walked over to her with a smile on his face. Holding out his gloved hand to her. "Welcome then miss chambers. Sorry I was just working on my car. Those ears are adorable." HE said as he was cautious not to touch her with his bare skin, he touched her ear with his gloved hand gently seeing if they were real before putting his hand in his pocket. "wow they are real."

Siro took a step back just in case the girl trippped. Better safe then sorry since he has killed people with his skill. "I'm sorry if I seem distant. I have a skin issue." He explained not wanting to scare her or think she was weird.

She watched as he had put on his gloves and coat. As he walked a little closer to her she took a couple steps toward him too. He welcomed her and she offered her hand in greeting. "Thank you. I hope I didn't interrupt your work," she said with a smile. "Yep, they're real," she added as he touched her ear. She noticed as he stepped back again and mentioned having a skin issue. Layla thought maybe it must have something to do with being a mutant, so she asked, "What's your powers?"

He laughed at her reply to her ears, he found it rather amusing looking at her for a moment before shaking his head. "No I need a new fan belt I broke mine. but..." He paused when he asked her his power, he didn't want to scare anyone with his skills. rubbing the back of his neck with a sad look on his face.

"I manipulate bones, heal, and absorb powers through touch." He didn't want to go into detail about what he has done with them. infact he hated his absorbtion powers. "Would you care to walk to town with me. I have to get a specific one for my car. I'll buy you a tea if you like." He was trying to be nice and make friendd since nromally he was distant.

She giggled a little bit with him. Layla didn't know much about cars, and wasn't sure what a fan belt was, but it sounded important. Then she noticed that he became slightly uncomfortable when she asked him about his powers, and was about to apologize and tell him he didn't have to answer when he did. "Oh, that sounds useful," she said with a smile, trying to undo making him uneasy. She almost said that if he touched her he could turn into cats, but she caught her words and instead she said, "Besides looking like a cat, I can turn into them too, or a wild cat."

Then he offered to let her go into town with him. This time it was her turn to feel uneasy, "Well...," Layla shoved her hands in her pockets, "It sounds like fun and all, but I'll have to grab a hoodie and change into a long skirt, so no one sees my ears and tail you know..."

Siro looked at her when she seemed a little uneasy when he asked her out to do something. He figured the company would be good. thinking for a moment he guessed it would be odd for her to go somewhre with him when he just met her. but when she mentioned about needing to change. He got an idea.

Taking off his coat and grabbing a blue football gators hat from his car he handed them to her. "Here try these. As long as you don't touch my bare skin your okay." He was trying to make her feel a little more comfortable around him and not uneasy. He could tell. "Sorry if it isn't what you wanted, but I normally don't let people wear them...except one person. in which normally that person just steals it from my chair." He laughed.

Layla waited as he took off his coat and handed it to her, along with a hat. She took them from him carefully so she didn't touch him. Normally she most likely wouldn't wear things like these, being one for fashion and clothes from Abercrombie, but she put them on gratefully knowing that he was being helpful to her. "Thank you," she said with a smile. She hoped no one in public got suspicious of her for wearing a long black coat and hat during summer.

Siro looked at her in his coat and smiled. "That looks good on you. wish I had a smaller size." He tried to make her feel better about wearing his coat. "Shall we walk. and its no problem." Siro told her as he walked towards the opening garage door. wondered something but pushed it aside as he knew taking someone's powers would be a bad thing.

"If you get too hot we could always say your in costume for a play for kids." He made a joke, but bowed to her like a gentleman holding out his hand to escort her outside. he might have been raised on the streets but he knew his manners around a woman. "I will get you a snow cone. they are really good here."

The sleeves were a little long and she tried to push them up, but they wouldn't stay. Siro offered Layla his hand, being polite she took it. Normally she probably wouldn't hold hands with a boy right after meeting them. She giggled when he said they could tell people she was in costume. "Idk, I'd like to try keeping them hidden. And snow cones are yummy, I like the blue flavor ones." She grinned.
