Busy Streets (Open- Matt)

The large 19 year old man strolled down the street, taking in the sights of a busy Saturday afternoon as he moved along the concrete walkway. At 6 foot four he towered over many of the humans around him, and caught looks from a few of them. He ran a hand over his newly buzzed head, a small pang of regret causing him to miss the shaggy black mess that had been there a few days ago. He had to admit however, that this was much better. he looked better, he felt better, and his head was quite a bit cooler.

He wore a pair of baggy blue basketball shorts, and a tight spandex under-armour muscle shirt. His eyes were covered in a pair of sunglasses, stolen from a convenience store the previous day.

Christopher had a hard time getting over the cacophony of sound in the city. In the forest everything was quiet and peaceful. The slightest sound was like a siren. So much as a rabbit snapping a twig was enough that he could track it from yards away. here though, it was hard to focus on anything. The sounds all berated him at once, leaving him slightly disoriented and overwhelmed.

(excuse me if I'm wrong, but judging by his picture he looks like he'd be a big guy.)

Matt was walking towards the mall, he wasn't one for walking while a large group of people stared at him, but he was running low on cards and didn't feel comfortable without carrying a few decks on him. He was keeping to himself until he fell behind a man who was taking nearly the entire sidewalk and felt the need to walk at a pace that was an insult to a turtle.
"Hey, if you're going to take up the sidewalk, please do so at a reasonable pace."
It seems people who we're not willing to say anything themselves looked back to see who stood up to this giant. Matt smiled at their disbelief as they saw him, at 5 foot 4 inches with a thin build Matt looked at least 100 pounds lighter then the man.

((He is. Not fat, just built large, and muscular))

"Hey, if you're going to take up the sidewalk, please do so at a reasonable pace." a voice called from behind Chris' back. He turned around, ready to pummel the source of the voice, but was surprised when he looked down at a boy who was a foot shorter, and quite a bit smaller than himself.

"Are you speaking to me, little person?" he asked, staring down at the boy. "And what exactly is a reasonable pace? This mad hustle you people go about everyday? HA! There is nothing reasonable about it. The world moves at a reasonable pace... people just don't find that fast enough," he said calmly. It was quite sad actually that humans didn't appreciate the beauty of the world around them like they once had. So caught up in their busy lives, they moved too fast to see the majesty of Mother nature. life as a wolf was different. Life in the wild moved so much more...calmly. It was not rushed and frantic like the jungle of stone and steel that these humans lived in.

"Is whatever you need to do so important that it can't possibly be delayed a few minutes?"

Matt was beginning to get angry, he didn't like needing to wait around and this guys recent outburst was just taking up more time.
"Some people just don't like crowds, it's not where I'm going that's important it's where I'm at."
Matt stared at the guy, he was far from backing down since he was more then able to hold his own when it came to a fight, in fact this guy wouldn't see what was coming.
"Bud, I'm not going to tell you to walk faster, but you can let me by or I'll have no trouble making my own way."

Stepping aside Christopher made a large drawn out gesture of waving the newcomer by. "By all means, be my guest," he called with mock sincerity. "Would it not have been easier to simply ask that from the beginning? You humans are just too proud. you all think you're so important" he added, rolling his eyes. The small man annoyed him, as many humans tended to. They were always simply so...arrogant. It perplexed the man how they could think themselves above the rest of the animal kingdom, and destroy the Earth bit y bit, when they were no better than the rabbits digging in the dirt... and he knew it. He had experienced life in so many forms, that he could attest to the fact that human life was no better than the life of an animal... it was simply that humans tell themselves differently.

"That is a matter of perspective, people today have already judged, they have looked at you and already decided that you are a menace, I've done what everyone else wanted to do so clearly I'm just standing up to you."
Matt said as he walked by, shifting his view from the man to the people who had been standing and watching.
"That is the level of ignorance that exists here, I apologize for having lumped you with them but it is hard to find a needle in a hay stack."

The large teen let out a laugh in response to the smaller one's statement. "Ignorance does not begin to define it," he scoffed. Staring at his own reflection in the street-window of the shop in front of him, he pondered to himself for a moment. "Humans are so... bothersome. What cruel fate allowed me to be born into their race? More importantly what did I do as a human to be graced with the gift I have?"

Noticing the sign above the window, he recalled that he still had a fair bit of money left from his last...endeavor. "Don't you find the human form so bland and plain?" he said absent mindedly to the rude kid who had told him to move. He looked around at the people hurrying by. "I don't understand how people can be happy looking so plain. In all the animal kingdom the human species is the one with the least beauty and decoration to it," he added, now staring into the tattoo shop before him.

"Speak for yourself, I'm used to standing out in a crowd."
Matt said at he parted the hair from his eyes, clearly the man would notice both his odd hair and eyes. He enjoyed being his powers and it was worth looking different, he was just annoyed when people would talk about him.
"A gift is to be blessed with the real ability to decide the future, something unique only to a select few."
Matt said, taking interest in the mans wording, perhaps as a normal guy his statement would mean less, but to him it spelled mutant, but he was going to need to tread lightly.

As the teen brushed his hair out of his face, Christopher noticed for the first time the odd hue of his hair and eyes. His eyes were what really caught Chris' attention, appearing almost reptilian.

"A gift is to be blessed with the real ability to decide the future, something unique only to a select few."

The teen hit a home run with that statement. It was Christopher's own uniqueness that he coveted. his ability alone was not enough however. he felt as if he was apart from the rest of humans, and he was shown evidence of that everyday. As a result he wanted to look unique. he enjoyed the process of getting a tattoo because he saw it as a way to give his boring human flesh some life and decoration, like the plume of a bird, or the pelt of a wolf.

he let out a soft chuckle. "How right you are. Unique is not just a word, but a way of life to me," he muttered.

"For some of us that is more true then you might expect."
Matt smiled as he was almost sure this man was a mutant, but he might just think highly of himself, he decided to leave it rest and make a note to remember the man.
"Enjoy the tattoo, but it won't make you feel any better, it's about what we are on the inside that can make us unique. I'm not going to waste anymore of your time, I'm going to the mall to pick up some supplies, if I see you around I may say hi."
Matt was sure he could remember the man he had so many defining features, not that Matt was one to talk but it almost made him feel that they we're able to share a sense of the world.
