Past the limits. (open)

Makoto was working out as hard as he could since his loss. He couldnt afford to lose. If he loses then Akachi might be hurt, and Makoto would die before letting that happen. He punched the bag until his knuckles bleed. Then he ran the treadmill until his legs gave out from under him. and even then he lifted weights until his body started to break. His veins had ruptured in his arms and legs and were forming large bruises. But makoto still didnt stop, even with the agony he was in. Nothing could stop him from becoming stronger.

"Makoto?!" Shadow called as she walked unto the basement. "Makoto, are you okay?! Please tell me this is some sick joke!" She rushed over to him as he was working out. "Hell in a hand-basket, what'd you do to yourself, fella?! Akachi's gonna kill ya if she sees you like this!" She put a hand on one of the bigger bruises, hoping he'd adsorb her healing.

Makoto shook his head. "I..can't...stop." He said in between short breaths. "Must....get...stronger." He dropped the weights and went back over to the punching bag and punched it even harder than before. A small crack was heard as he broke a bone in his hand. "I need to be stronger..Next time I lose Akachi might be hurt. And I will die before that happens."

"You wanna be stronger? Absorb my powers and I'll give you a tip, because these bruises and breaks aren't gonna help," Shadow said, wincing at the crack of a bone. I think I still have some of those pills, with luck they'll knock him out, Shadow thought, thinking of the sleeping pills she'd grabbed off her brother. She'd heard New York had a high crime rate and may need them to sleep over the sirens. "Come on, I have a few vitamins that might help ya."

Makoto shook his head. "I can't rely on someone else's powers." He shook his broken hand and went back at it. "I need to be as strong as I can get." He began to really pound the bag now, resulting in more cracks of broken bones. After one last punch of piece of bone poke through the skin on his finger. "Damn it all to hell!!" He growled before continuing to punch with the other hand.

"Makoto, you're gonna kill yourself and leave her unprotected if you don't take them!" Shadow yelled, grabbing at his ear to pull him back and forcing his damaged hand in his face. "Look at what you're doing to yourself! If she sees you, you're gonna make her cry! Now, do you want that?!" Shadow was screaming now, and a few tears were forming in her eyes. She couldn't easily watch a guy she considered her friend do this to himself. "Do you want her to cry and be left unprotected or do you want to live and make her love you?!"

Makoto growled slightly and wrenched his hand away from her. "She will never love me." He said angrily but with despair and depression in his eyes. "Im fine." He went back to the treadmill and started it at full speed. he felt his legs burning but he didnt care. the only way to get stronger was to push yourself further and further.

"Makoto! You wanna protect her?! Stop doing this to yourself, dammit!" Shadow screamed, grabbing the back of his shirt as he tried running on the treadmill. If she couldn't get him, at least the power cord was close by. "If you want to protect her, stop doing this to yourself! The only reason you lost was because I stopped you from hurting them! I didn't want my sister crying because you hurt her boyfriend!" Okay, maybe she was stretching the truth, but she needed to. A tear rolled down her cheek, as she pulled at him. He was bleeding pretty badly. He'd die of blood loss if he wasn't careful. "Take my powers you stubborn asshole!"

Makoto growled and shook her off. "FINE!!!!" Makoto absorbed her powers and then slammed the bone back inside his hand so it could heal. "Happy?!?!?!?" He said angrily. "Now let take your damn powers back." Makoto recently had learned to uncopy a power. He was a human was more and returned to the treadmill.

Matt entered the room, if for no if for other reason he wanted to see what exactly was going on down here. "I was only half way into my nap before I train for the night what's going on in here?" He looked around and saw the guy, clearly he was frantic - training for something. "I know a good way you can train well, if you interested follow me." He stepped into the hall way and unlocked the door to that metal sparring room, he'd likely have to hold himself back not to kill the guy in his condition but he'd just focus on almost moving just a bit faster then him so he could work himself up.

Makoto nodded and followed him inside. "I know what you are thinking, do not hold back on me. I need to become as strong as I possibly can to protect Akachi." Makoto got in a fighting stance and felt the energy of Matt's power flow through him. He smiled to himself as Matt had no idea what he was in for. "You get to make the first move, and before we start. My name is Makoto by the way."

Matt, looked the guy up, he clearly wasn't in the condition to keep up with him after pushing himself during training. He shrugged at the boy. "Alright, I'll try not you kill ya." He didn't bother stretching for this one, it would be over way to soon. He dashed forward maintaining about half his speed, fast but he was sure he'd keep up, he set up for an attack and a few steps out he began to sidestep. He pushed his speed quickened to a sprint in hopes to reaching the boys back before he even registered the move and shot to quick charged punched into the boys back.

(The charge's act as added force in impact, not enough to break bones or cause internal bleeding but enough for intense pain considering your characters work out.)

Makoto smirked. He had healed since he had copied Shadow's healing power a minute ago. This boy was clearly underestimating what he could do. Makoto sidestepped the blow with the same speed that Matt had and then grabbed his wrist and sent a energy charged punch at his chest before rolling backwards to wait for a counterattack.

Matt saw the move, but didn't have the thought to react, he took a small flight back as he took the blow, he kept his footing and grabbed his chest with some surprise "Interesting, it seems we're both highly conditioned, I shouldn't have taken you lightly. How well you you handle that energy?" He was going to hate ruining another pair of shoes but he'd have to throw in some kicking combos. He began to charge all his limbs and waited for him to make a move, he lost all thought about his health and began to think about how fun this would be, he wasn't even sure if this guy had a body that was able to hold large amounts of power or if charging a large amount like him would break him - not to mention if could withstand the attack.

Makoto was already in very strong physical condition so the energy posed not much of a problem. He would have to watch the amount he absorbed though. "Well my friend i can do anything you can," he added a smirk, "literally." Makoto circled around the male cautiously. "Never underestimate your opponant. Hubris always leads to downfall. I know from experiance. Makoto took off his shirrt revealing a massive scar down his abdomen. "That was restricting my movement." Makoto used the chatting as a distraction before using a high energy burst of speed towards Matt. He swung his left fist as a fake but quickly followed with a knee aimed high.

Matt wasn't so sure, he was starting to piece this together, this guy seemed cocky with his ability to match him. Maybe his attacks weren't just like his, they could be the exact same. Matt's entire body was different, his entire structure was designed to store and create extreme amounts of energy even if this guy was copying his power there wasn't much chance his was able to make his entire body match his. He already started his his sidestep as the man leaped towards him. He was making use of his fighting style, maintaining a fast pace and keeping close. He could feel his own body beginning to tickle with the charge, he had bought more then enough time to make himself a real damage dealing attack. He waited for the guy to charge him again.

Makoto decided to think outside of the box. He stored up energy for a few momen before jumping backwards and planting his feet firmly against the floor and grinned. "This is fun!" He said laughing. "I havent had fun since my date with Akachi!" He as stalling to make time for him to absorb a lot of energy. He had a plan that no one would think of.

Matt just stood his ground, he wasn't sure what he was going to do next but he was sure of the limits of his own powers, as strong as he was one of his weaknesses was his inability to fight at a range, so this would be a slow pace if neither of them closed the gap. He inched himself forward with slow yet sure movements, only so much could happen now and he just had to be sure he left himself the room to make his attack count.

Makoto grinned. "You have been storing energy for a long time now. Lets just see how much you can hold before it overloads you." Makoto had been using energy and was nowhere near filled up completely. He smiled and waited paitiently. "So what are you gonna do?"

Matt grinned at him. "All things considered likely a lot more then you can, this is where I stop myself but it's hardly my peak, you have my powers but I have training." He just let it slip, he wasn't sure if he was really using the same powers as him, but he would figure it out now wouldn't he. He kept moving forward, he wasn't going to let up what small pressure he was putting on now.

Makoto smiled as claws shot out of his hand. "Meet my six friends." He snapped his fingers and his claws erupted inti flames. "I still have some wolverette left in me as well as your energy creation." He bevan towalk closer to Matt slowly. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Matt shrugged, he was right, and even more so the guy was able to do something else on top of it. "As long as it's just a bit I'm sure I"ll deal with it." He was getting way to close now, he broke into a dash, not towards him but around, partial powers and his own, so long as this guy wasn't a natural and handling his powers he'd still be able to outclass him. He closed the gap quickly on his right side and shot out one of the punches, he expected a miss but this was only go force him to move and cause a counter attack.

Makoto did something unexpected. He used his own charged punch to cancel the one Matt threw.He then proceded to light Matts clothes on fire then slashed a charged claw horizontaly in a wide arc with enhanced speed. He then rolled backwards to anticipate an attqck

Matt kept dashing forward, he would likely get a few burns but he couldn't much care about that now, taking the direct hit was the most unlikely route so by the time Mokoto stopped rolling Matt was already on top of him, there was pain in almost every part of his body, he was getting mad, maybe a little reckless of his sparring partners health with a small jump he quickly delivered two large attacks at the boy, his shoes hadn't finished ripping apart before he'd landed and finished with one last punch on top of him.

Makoto got hit hard and he went down ut quickly picked himself up. He spit out some blood and panted a little. "I cant remember the last time i fought this hard." He could feel himself slowly healing. It wasnt fast but it was good enough for him. It kept him from getting over-exaughsted. "You getting tired?" He said with a smirk. Makoto used some of the stored energy he had to race towards Matt and put the rest of his energy into an x shaped slash with his claws. In his head he thought i hope this works...
